7105t Media Manager Errors - Just Upgd OS
 

I'm sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. I searched, with no luck so far.

For my BB 7105t...

Is there a way to upload pictures via data cable with the desktop manager? When I try to open the Media Manager, I get;

"The connected BlackBerry does not support transferring media files. Verify the device has Blackberry Device Software version 4.2 or later installed"

I just want to get some backgrounds/ringtones, whatever on it, but I dont have the data plan, just the phone. Everything else seems to work great. I recently upgraded to the newest OS 4.1.309.

I also would like to know the answer to this. I however have a more fundamental question, where did you find Media Manager on the menu? It has never been listed on my menu and I only saw it pop up once when I tried to download a ringtone. (When the download failed it promptly disappeared).:?

You answered your own question:

The 7105 will never get 4.2. So far the Pearl is the only device that has 4.2, 870X, 7130's to follow soon.

Media Manager is in the Desktop Manager Software version 4.2. On devices with 4.2 OS's you can send media files directly to the phone/media card (Pearl only). Currently the Pearl is the only device with 4.2. It is coming for other devices.

That's the first I've heard that 4.2 would never be out for the 7100 devices. It wouldn't surprise me, though, as the 7100 devices are rather slow and don't have a lot of memory for media, etc.

The BlacKjack is looking better and better every damn day.

So go and try it!
