Default Will SIM work in other handsets?

Please Login to Remove!

Uh-oh. Dropped my blackberry down the toilet today. it's currently drying out. i have no idea whether or not it will work again but don't want to try until it's totally dry.

if it doesn't (and this being a pretty rubbish time to get my work to get me a new one) can i use the SIM in another handset over Christmas?

i don't know if this will work or not. many thanks to anyone that can help!

it's a 7130V on Vodafone in the UK.

First off all, you must put battery out. Then try to dry handset with hair dryer.Meybe you still have a chanse to work it.
Sim must work in eny other handset, but blackberry servis will work only in BB and in handset which have enebled BB service.

good luck

Default thanks

thanks. i've done exactly that and did some drying with
the hair dryer (not too much as i'm worried its too hot).

i'm going to leave it for several hours to really dry out as i guess there should be no moisture left in there or it could break when i turn it on.

if it doesn't work, i'll use an old phone until the New Year. i guess the phone and SMS will work?

thanks BraneM

Correct as long as that phone is unlocked or carrier specific to your SIM card it will work just fine. As BraneM said however there will be no BB Data Plan on the phone though.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Be extremely careful not to get the components too hot when drying it out. The air flow alone will help as well as letting it set under a lamp.
