Default Cingular IPPP Service Book Problems

Please Login to Remove!

This is not an original question, but I couldn't find a thread that gave me the results needed.

My old BlackBerry 8700c died and Cingular replaced it with a new one. I was using TCP before, but now with the following settings, it still doesn't seem to work for BBWeather or Yak-On. However, Google Maps does work. I've tried to register several times from the routing table, but to no avail.

APN: wap.cingular
username: [email address]
PW: CINGULAR1

Does anyone have ideas? Thanks!

You can call Cingular's data support and have them try physically pushing it to your BB.

I also thought that BBweather needs to set no to use MDS. I am not sure about what YakOn does. But the way that got fixed for a BIS BB Weather user is by check marking the do not use MDS.

I called Cingular and had them resend the service books, but it's still not working. BBWeather tells me "could not open tunnel - failed." Does anyone have more ideas of what I can do to get this thing running for IP service? Thanks!

In BB weather settings there is an MDS box you need to check mark it.

You noted that in the post I replied to. That's with that set. Yak On still doesn't work, and neither does any IP app. Basically the service books didn't do the trick, and I've 5x checked my APN settings.

This also happens to me as recent as 2 weeks ago. Cingular has to add WAP back to your account. I was told that some times when you change PIN and IMEI numbers, the system will take WAP off. Sounded bogus to me but when she added it back, all of my WAP apps worked.
