Still No Aim on 8703e I've tried Ramble, Yak-on, google talk, etc. and cannot get AIM to work on my Sprint 8703e. One question that I have not seen answered on here is this: I get aim messages forwarded to my phone from AIM's mobile forwarding. I can reply to each and every aim message sent to me; I just cannot initiate the conversation without saving the last message from each person. As I can send these as an SMS, is there a way to bypass IM services altogether and just use AIM via SMS by actually saving the user? The user id is generic, such as 26815, thus I cannot actually save an SMS address. Yahoo Messenger works just fine. I simply cannot get AIM to work at all. Thanks. |
Googletalk is working. I'm going to thank myself and call it a day. |
I use Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger. I have an AIM account, but I never use it. |
I would suggest a program called Yak-on. I am successfully running it without any lockups or interruptions on AIM. MSN and Yahoo! Messenger are also available within the program. |
Did you have a treo and then switched to a BB? |
I also have a 8703e with Sprint and the only thing that worked out of the box for me is Yak-On.. Works great for me. |
I would say use Yak On as well, i use it and have never had a problem with it, its a pretty clean app... |
I also recommend Yak-On and have not had any problems with it since I first got my Sprint 8703e. MSN does take a while to sign on but other than that, no actual issues with the application. It does have some drain on your battery as the default 'check-in' time for the network is 2 minutes, you may customize this for your needs. |
Thank you to all. Google Talk is working for now. If it acts up, then I will try Yak-On again. |
