Default Arabic character set on blackberry? SuperMemo?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone.

I just received a blackberry for Christmas. Never having used a blackberry I will probably have many questions, but lets start with this. I am taking Arabic in college and would love to be able to load the Arabic Character Set on my BlackBerry. I would also love to be able to use that character set with flash card software such as SuperMemo. I did a little reserach and have not been able to come up with anything. Anyone have any idea how I would go about loading the Arabic alphabet onto my new device? Also, how I would go about using it with a program such as SuperMemo, or another type of flashcard software with this alphabet?

I wasn't sure if this was the right forum since these aren't directly 3rd party software questions and they also aren't directly blackberry software questions.

Also, if anyone can answer this quickly with a link or such...is there any kind of blackberry software support for macs? My service provider is Sprint and the software bundled with the device is Windows only, which is ok because I'm running BootCamp, but not ideal.

Thanks!

Smeshy

With the recent update from RIM/Cingular, you can install Semitic fonts on your BB8700c when you upgrade it. That means you'll be able to read Hebrew and Arabic websites / e-mails, IMs but not write them.

I tried this on the 8800. Neither hebrew, arabic nor russian text input is working with the Rogers release.
