Unhappy BB Service in pakistan via T Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

I have BB 8700 device (Edge) and do have T mobile connection. I am planning to travel to Pakistan where only GSM service picks up the BB messaging. Does anybody know how could I retrieve my e mails? My US cell does work in Pakistan but my BB does not. Any help will be highly appreciated...

If you're using T-Mobile, you can activate Blackberry International Unlimited Data (20 dollars a month) and it allows you to roam over there and retrieve BB emails etc. But you will be charged for any data use beyond email retrieval. Where in Pakistan? I'm (my family) is from Karachi, near Gulshan-E-Iqbal.

Thank you. Did you happen to have the same problem? Can I buy this from any T mobile shop in the USA or it has to be in Pakistan?
I am from Faisalabad and live in DC.
Many thanks.

T-Mo (US) needs to have a roaming agreement in Pakistan for not only voice but data also. If you grab onto a GSM-only signal, you may be able to go into Networks and manually select a network that allows GPRS and/or EDGE. Of course all of this is valid if as v12spd pointed out, you have a data plan in the US and you roam in Pakistan. If on the other hand you want to have a local data plan, you will need to contact a local carrier to see if they offer a BB plan on a month to month basis or better yet, prepaid basis.

yeah choices are:

A: If tmobile has a roaming deal with a pakistani carrier add unlimited blackberry international with t-mobile. $20.00/mo.

B: Tell t-mobile you need the phone unlocked. Buy a new SIM card from a local carrier that offers blackberry service. Use that in pakistan and your t-mobile SIM in the USA.
