message alerts Something I've not got to grips with in months of 8700 ownership is message alerts, as in, they all sound alike I see I can attach different tones to alerts but what exactly do these terms mean; browser level 1 messages messages mms |
Browser --) Alerts if you get a browser message (like push weather) Level 1 Messages --) A message identifed as Level 1 (important) Messages --) Email MMS --) Multi Media Message (like SMS but will have sound, images ect..) Hope this helps :) |
And aren't level 1 messages usually pin to pin? That's what I always thought. |
Nope. Level 1 messages are whatever you define them to be. You can opt to make PIN's level 1. Level 1 alerts allow you to enable alerts only on certain messages or you can opt to have alerts for general messages and a separate alert for Level 1 messages. |
Hey That's sweet! I never knew what those ones ment! Where can I down load tunes from my :bb: ? I want sweet sounding sounds!! |
You should be able to go into your BIS setup and setup filters to send predefined emails to your BB as level 1. I have pins as level 1 (setup in the BB) and then in BIS sI have a filter that says for all messages from my wife to send as level 1. You can set a different tone on the BB for level 1 messages and in 4.2 OS (which will be out soon for the 8700) they appear in red in the message list. |
Please can someone explain this I went into options>profiles altered each alert to a different tone all of which loud regardless of holstered or not, Just sent myself 2 G-mails, arrived with 2 different tones... |
That interesting. You didn't set any filters to forward any mail as Level 1? |
I'm not that technical, All I want is a distinction between alerts, strange. |
Have you installed any programs that notify you of emails, calls, things like that? You could have two different notifications going off from the two different applications: the notification from the OS and another program. Just a thought. :) |
No G-mail offer a 'notifier' on PC set up which is a taskbar envelope blue- or not blue, but on the BB there is nothing, just as it came out the box, In fact I'm loathe to load apps, for fear of cramming it.... |
how do i delete a software from my blackberry. i.e. google maps |
options>advanced options>applications scroll down the list what you want rid off, click wheel on delete, (And I think then a restart) |
