File Transfer using direct connect

I am trying to transfer .mp3 files to my 8700c. Is there any way to do this with the BB directly connected to my PC via USB? I don't have a bluetooth enabled PC. I tried emailing the files to myself, but even though the message says there is an attachment, mp3 files will not download. I tried renaming the file attachment to .xls and it tries to download it but says bad file format and I cannot rename the attachment on the BB.

The only other thing I can think of is to upload the mp3 to a website and download using the BB browser, but I don't have a personal website. Anyone know of a free site where I can upload files and then download?

Cheers and Thanks!

Brian

As far as I know, no. Host the files somewhere, then browse to it from the device. Do a search on Google for free web space. I own my own domain, so not sure of any good free one's...

Oh Gawd. . .you must be kidding. My company has a NetNanny called WebSense that blocks certain pages when surfing on the company network. One of the things that is blocked is "personal file sharing sites" and it is even blocked on the damned BB. I get my companies WebSense block page when I try and get to those sites from my BB browser.

GRRRRRRR

I give up.

Does your company block internal sites as well? If not, how much control do you have over your own PC? Can you install/configure IIS on it? If yes, then you may be able to download files by pointing your BB's browser at your PC's IIS web server.
