Unhappy 8700g red led on unattend. calls doesnt flash

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, I'm Manfred and I'm new here. Sorry for my english, but I'm german and t-mobile in Germany can't help.
My problem is: if I did get a call which was not answered, the red light doesen't flash. I tried several settings, but there is no way (led notification is turned on in the profiles and in the options menue; battery was taken out; reset was done,...). The light just flashes red during the call and as soon as the caller hangs up the light turns to green (blinking); on emails it works correct (incoming email is shown on the red flashing light);
I think there must something been happened with my installed firmware (v.4.10.286; platform 2.0.0.123) which is the actual one of t-mobile germany;
any idea?
I tried to put the firmware on the handheld, but the result was, that nothing changed (also the enterprise activation was not necessary); so I think something of the old configuration stayed on the unit;
is there a way to get rid of the complete installed firmware (including system sw) to try it again?
Thank you for your help

You said you tried to install a newer software revision? After installing it to your PC did you delete the vendor.xml file located on your pc in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader? If not, delete it and try again.

Enterprise Activation icon shows up if you have an EA plan but don't use BES. Just hide the icon.

Edit: oh, and for what it's worth, I don't get a red led flash for a missed call.

Hello John,
thank you for you quick answer.
Sorry, but I don't know what's "EA plan"?

a BES plan. Blackberry Enterprise Server....Sounds like you're not using it so I wouldn't worry about it.

Also, I edited my first post...I don't get a red led flash for a missed call. I don't remember ever getting one either.

I use the handheld in our company and I know that we use our own exchange server; so I think we use BES;
I rember, that the red led did flash for unanswered calls in the past;
it's really useful to have this feature because when the display is dark you have an indicator, that someone did call you

I suggest to try the latest cingular os. I can't remember if red led worked with old os, but I know it's working now.

Best,
Jaime
