Default A few BlackBerry 7290 Q's from a newbie...

Please Login to Remove!

  1. Is there any way to prevent the screen from dimming?
  2. Is there any way to turn the backlight on other than using the (imo, tiny) power button?
  3. Does RIM offer a trade-up plan if I decide to upgrade to one of the newer models?
  4. Does AIM offer a BB-compatible version, similar to Yahoo Messenger & Gmail?
  5. Why does Opera Mini refuse to connect to the network?
  6. How do I resist the urge to (ab)use this while at work?

Thanks!!!

You can download BBLight for free to help with your backlight issues.

Wirelessly posted (7130e: BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I think we are all waiting for a compatible aim messenger app like yahoo messenger. Ramble is a good program but doesn't seem to work well with Verizon service. It always disconnects me.

BBLight will allow you to set the options to turn on the light when removed from the holster. I found this a very nice feature. One word on the lite, it does draw power fairly quick. you may still want to set the options to shut it off if idle for a few seconds.

to keep from using a Blackberry at work you must put it in a bag of jello, no one will suspect. You could also try convincing your company to use them.

I hope no one minds me asking a few questions. I just got a 7290, how do I put new wallpapaers, and ringtones on it? I can't seem to find anything about that...

An excellent place to start would be the Ringtones, Themes and Wallpapers Forum.

Good luck,
