Default Address Book Search Function Not Working?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to force the 8700 or any BB to re-index the contacts in the address book. My 8700 no longer can find any addresses in the Address Book, even though they are all there. Several other have asked this question but I couldn't find an answer anywhere on the forums? basically, when I enter a name or company, the address book no longer narrows down the address book results to help me find the right contact?

Any help?

Thanks!

Drew

Are you on BES? If you are you can turn off the wireless sync, delete all the contacts on the BB then turn the wireless sync back on. You will get a fresh load of contacts. This fixed my problem.

Thanks, I will try that tomorrow and report back. Quick question, where exactly and what exactly am I turning off. Is there an option to turn off just the wireless synch of contacts/address book entries from the local outlook client. I'm actually looking at the Blackberry Manager and I do see an option to disable Address Book Sync, but there is also an option under the general Pim Synch called "Wireless Sync Enabled" = TRUE

Which of these options should I disable? Wireless Sync? or Address Book Sync.

Something tells me its the Address Book Synch, but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Drew

OK, now an even more simple question. How do yo delete all the contacts in the 8700? I have way to many to delete these one by one.

Thanks
