Default Newly unlocked 7100r has missing browser

Please Login to Remove!

I got a 7100r from a friend and just unlocked it via ebay and an unlock code.

It required that the firmware be upgraded to 4.1 which I did, and then the unlock code worked.

Actually the phone works great except for 2 weird things.

First there is no browser icon at all. under options and settings for browser, it is completly missing. however under applications browser is listed. For the applications loader, the browser is checked off and greyed out.

I realize I cant use BB service, but I should be able to use a general WAP browser and set it for FIDO settings.

2nd annomaly is the messages application which should just show messages shows every call, like it is mimicking my call log. shouldnt this just be a messages only application?

Thanks in advance for your help

Fido does not support the BlackBerry at all. All you will have is voice and SMS. No WAP; no Internet; no data of any kind.

You can control what is show in the Messages by going into the Phone application, click the wheel and select options, and change the Call Logging features.

Good luck!

Talking

The browser application is downloaded by the carrier....when you sign up for a data contract you would have to use a third party browser like Opera but that will still wont help you

Good Luck

No. In order to use ANY data on the BlackBerry, you muse have a BlackBerry Data Plan. Since Fido does not offer a BlackBerry Data Plan, all you can use is voice and SMS.
