Default MMS and the 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

7100t has support for the MMS (Mulitmedia Messesanging Service). Even has a viewer for it. Does anyone know how this works and what is entailed with it. I am not super familiar with MMS but lihe the concept of it and want to learn more.

Thanks

How do you get the viewer started? I couldn't find anything about it...

Just get an MMS message.

I saw that I could sort my Inbox to show MMS messages (alt-M)

Someone should probably move this thread...

Okay, so I take it we can't SEND MMS. Who has a phone that can send an MMS? I want to see if I can receive one...

I tried sending MMS to my 7100t from a Razr V3 and it bounced back to the razr.... so for some reason I can't even receive an MMS although it seems there should be support for it... Do you have to explicitly enable it via a service plan?

MMS is basically just a binary SMS with a URL embedded in it. The client that receives it fetches the URL's contents, and it's called an MMS.

MIME-email with an HTTP request. Really high-tech ;)

Usually you have to enable MMS and have an APN for fetching MMS messages. Did you even get the text contacts of the MMS on the 7100?

Is the 7100t a WAP2.0 device?

The fact that there is no way to setup things like the apn would tend to imply that the alt+m shortcut is simply something they forgot to remove, perhaps they had issues with mms and had to strip it out of this initial software release.

I have noticed before now that some of those shortcuts don't get translated if you simply change the language settings on your blackberry so it wouldn't be the first time they have missed something in there.
