my blackberry will go crazy at times where when im typing it, instead of just typing one letter it will type 2 or 3 at the same time. When I hit r it will type rf. when I hit end on a phone call it will put 63 on the screen. I have to hit end like 5 time for it to end the call
anyone know why it dose this or know of a way to make it stop. I think i may just do a full restore to it but im trying to find out how to do that also.
btw i have 8703e
just and update this has happened to me more then once. I will have to do 2 hard restarts and sometimes even turn in off and then back on just to get it to work again.
I've had several problems with keys not working correctly. It's happened to me on more than one replacement phone. My thought is that it's a software issue. Is your BB under warranty? If so, maybe have it replaced.
well I have removed all my autotext and it still dose it. Any one else have any idea. If i can get this fixed I think im going to take it back to sprint to replace it. Its drives me crazy. It will start doing this out of no where. I could even by trying to put in a number to call and I can stary typing 27 then when I go to put in 0 it will erase the 27. I want to just smash this sometime. Yesterday I had to make an important phone call as it would not dial the fing number.
Go to Options>Language and check the input method setting. Some of us had ours somehow set to Catalan or something like that. Your description sounds like it is the same thing. Set it to English US or whichever one you want.
well i went ahead and formated it and reinstall the os on to it and it seem to be working. I may load a back up to see if its was the language setting though as it was driving me nuts
Yes. My language and imput method and both set to english. I removed every other language from my phone.
I was also using the zen theme but I went back to one that is installed on the phone. I hope that is better now. I had to reset my phone 5 time before it would stop tying all crazy.
Ok now this is still getting crazy. Am I the Only one that is having this problem. I was just in telenav trying to type in an address and every time i hit 3 it was typing in 36.
Over the weekend i was trying to dial a number like 270 and when I hit 0 it would erase the number. I did a full format and am still getting the problem.
Do you all really think is the BB itself and just take it back to get another new one?

I've been experiencing the same problem on my Blackberry 7130. I'm trying to figure out the problem, where at times the unit will add unnecessary data from a single input. I cannot text or make calls using the number pad.
While my first thoughts are either a software or hardware issue, I'm wondering if it is related to my BES server as the problem started occuring after the unit was paired.
I've read over the thread and I've gone over all the suggestions to check my tracks, but none of them are the cause.
Any additional thoughts?

5 weeks passing and I personally think you have a defective keyboard--if you have tried unsuccessfully all the suggestions above and they have failed to rectify the defect. In your postings above I don't see (could have missed it) where you have yet contacted your carrier where it was purchased. Could be time for that.

This is not normal for an8703e. Instead of spending any more time on this issue, just take it back. Sprint is real good about replacing what is clearly a defective unit.
Well i finaly got time today to take it back. I got a brand new one. Mine must have been just been a very early and bad phone as this new one feels so much better. The track wheel is very tight and must easier to use.
