Default How to Use Unlocked 8700r

Please Login to Remove!

I am going to Ireland, my phone is unlocked. What do I do? Buy a prepaid SIM card there? Will this allow data? I am only there for 10 days and am going to primarily need data. Help please.

Thanks.

Well, I haven't been to Ireland, but here in the US there is no carrier that I know of that has a pre-paid Blackberry Data Plan like you are looking for, so I'm guessing there may not be one there either. Surf the web for a local carrier there, and see what they offer.

Who is your carrier now, and are you using a blackberry data plan currently with them?

I think TMobile and Cingular have international plans. You could start service with one of them before you leave and ad on the international plan. You will have voice and data this way.

That's what I was getting at by asking what carrier they use. Seeing as they have an 8700r, first guess tells me it might be Rogers, so the international plan may not be an option.

Ah, I was one step behind. I saw that it was unlocked and figured he had freedom to go with any service provider.

I am with Rogers was considering getting a card there. So, basically I would have to get a service plan unless an International Plan was available by Rogers?

I highly suggest checking into the carriers over there as I don't know of any carrier that offers Blackberry data on prepaid.
