Does email use up text messaging/SMS?

I'm on the $5 Unlimited IN and 50 extra TXT messages a month, and I was wondering if having email pushed to my phone uses up the extra TXT messages I have...

No, email uses data, and does not count as a text message. You will have to have a data plan to have email pushed to your phone though.

That's correct. If you plan on getting a lot of emails I would suggest getting the unlimited bb plan.
