Default Picture Messages?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,
I have an 8700g with T-Mobile.
Obviously the phone is capable of displaying pictures, but....every time someone tries to send me a picture message via SMS, I instead get a txt message from T-Mobile which tells me to go to their website and enter a password to view the picture.

Does anyone know why this might be? Can I change this with tmobile or via a setting on the blackberry?
Thanks in advance!

You have to send a picture message to yourself first. This registers the phone on T-Mobile's network as a MMS-capable phone. Since the 8700 doesn't have a camera, you can just send any file in the Pictures folder to your own telephone number. Once you receive it, you're good to go.

The 8700 isn't even mms capable, I thought... Only way to get pics is thru email or bb messenger.

Is there any rumors of this feature being activated in 4.2 OS, on the 8700c?

I have received picture messages on my phone in the past. Only in the last few weeks has it started this. Note that I did "wipe" the device.

I'm using T-Mobile's latest OS version (.346) and can receive MMS without problems. Only thing was that I had to send a MMS to myself first.

I receive picture messages just fine on my 8700g. Son sent me three pictures last week of MY truck where HE had bashed in the rear quarter panel! He sent them from his samsung trace.

So yes it works, even if you don't want to look at the pictures.

I was having this problem too with my Pearl. I will try to send one to myself to see if this works.
