Lightbulb Can I use my 7210 in Hong Kong?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there.

Will I be able to get my e-mail on my BlackBerry 7210 in Hong Kong?

My BlackBerry 7210 service is done through Rogers network in Canada where my account is assocated to a BES server in our office.

Will I get nailed for roaming charges to receive e-mail messages?

The 7210 is dual band GSM (1900 for North America and 900 for the rest of the world). It should work in Hong Kong - if your account is set up for International roaming and if Rogers has the proper roaming agreements in place (I'm sure they do).

Check the Rogers web site for international roaming agreement AND costs.

Voice will be expensive. Data should be OK - limit the browsing and instant messaging and you should be OK.

You will be paying for roaming, even for just emails. That could be costly, especially if you plan to view attachments.

Check with your provider, Rogers.
