Default Cellular boosters and repeaters?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been reading some ad's on boosters and repeaters and was thinking of getting a setup for my cabin due to low signal issues. I'd like to be able to do some work from there and would need a somewhat reliable data connection as well as phone. I do have some questions for the group though. Anyone use one of these setups for a 8700c using a data connection? I found a complete booster/repeater setup for under $400 but could not find any performance information on things like latency issues, etc.

Thanks for any help,

-jim

Welcome to the forums, Jim.

I purchased a dual band repeater system from the site below. It was about $3000 and I installed it in a metal hangar/office building. They have MUCH less expensive systems, especially if you don't need the dual band setup that I did. They are knowledgeable, and the support was great. Emails were answered, and they answer the phone, too. I was very pleased with the system, and the support as was my boss. I installed it two years ago and haven't had to touch it since.

One thing to keep in mind with this system that I purchased is that it doesn't amplify the signal. It only takes the signal you have outside and repeats it inside so you don't lose db due to metal buildings, walls, etc.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/106)

I was skeptical, but ordered a repeater for my office. I'm a skeptic no longer. It works GREAT! Don't remember the brand, but if you're intrested, PM me and I'll find out. It is a repeater/booster and was also about $400.

digital Antenna (that's the brand name) makes cell repeaters/amps for marine and residential use. I'm told they work well, but haven't tried one myself. Anyway, the website is pretty good and might help with info.

I can't post urls though, but just google digital antenna or digitalantenna.
