8703e Bluetooth to Laptop Problem
I just got this 8703e and am in the 15 day evaluation period w/ Verizon so I need to work out all the issues rather quickly. I cannot seem to get my Dell Inspiron to recognize my BB to transfer my PIM data via BT. The BB recognizes the Laptop but LT cannot recognize the BB except to use it for voice applications like a microphone (imagine this is for the bluetooth headset that came w/ the BB). I have spent several hours on the phone w/ both Dell and Verizon w/ no success. Verizon thought it might have to do w/ Dell using a 3rd party Bluetooth maker that disables the Microsoft BT Manager that BB needs to establish communication w/ the Laptop. Dell dismissed this and said that it was a Blackberry issue. I have been able to transfer all my PIM data via USB but it would be nice to do this via BT. Thanks for any assistance. Elina

same problem with my PC
I have an 8703e and have same problem. have done a search and found you need to use a Bluetooth adapter that is XPSP2 certified------I tried a Kensington one and was only able tO get voice gaTEWAY AS WELL. HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT ADAPTER

Thought this might be the case and the tech at Verizon suggested that it had to do w/ the BT that Dell installed. Dell said that there would be no way to work around the BT that was installed. I won't search for a solution at this point since the USB connect works fine and is super fast. But, good luck w/ your search!
