Default How long to provision BB service on a new SIM card?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know how long it takes to provision BB service on a new SIM card? O2 (UK) sent me a new SIM card, and though the new SIM recognised the O2 network in a matter of minutes (i.e. I can make and receive phone calls & SMS) the 8700 is still showing "Data Connection Rejected". I've already contacted O2 and confirmed with them that they have already requested BB provision on the new SIM card - it's just that it hasn't come through yet.

Anyone have any ideas?

I dont know about O2, but with T-Mobile the provisioning is almost immediate. Try going to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Register Now. Afterwards, take the battery out of 30 seconds.

Yeah I tried that and the HRT page was empty, as was the Service Books page. Basically I think the my O2 network account hasn't yet started talking to the BB servers - i.e. no data has got thru to the phone yet.

I have to ask, although you stated clearly that you asked O2 for BB "provisioning", have you actually "purchased" a Blackberry Data Plan for the phone. I don't know how O2 operates, but you will need to purchase that separately.

Usually pretty quick but I've had it take about 24 hours with TMO.

Same here about immediate provisioning, even where TMobile is piggybacking on Cingular.
