Default Latest Info on Cingular 8800 Release!

I went over to the local Cingular store today to look around at some of the "options" that were still available while the 8800 was still to be released.
I also figured since the release date was imminent I might get an inside scoop on the new release date/features etc.

I have always been THIS close to getting the Pearl but if the new one at least had the camera (san WiFi) I was going to wait.

Anyways, needless to say NO ONE in the entire store knew anything about the upcoming model of the blackberry.
They even looked at some of the sites out there and showed no mention of the 8800 while I rolled my eyes at them.

Then one of the reps decided to email her "contact" within Cingular to see about it after I guided them to this forum, on her PEARL nonetheless

Within seconds she got a confirmation email from "Him" that there was indeed a new Blackberry 8800 coming out in early MARCH.

Even though the announced date might be in a week or so, it still made sense that the actual in store availability might still be in March. Also, another reason for the March date could be because the new pricing structure (price drops for some of the phones) goes into effect in March

Then I asked her to email him back about the specs, more specifically about the Camera and Wifi and the response was........

NO Camera and NO WiFi but YES on GPS :(

Needless to say, i went ahead and got the Pearl since I had already played with it and was only missing the full keyboard (needed the Camera and Video for photo of kids etc) and also had to stick to a Blackberry becasue of using the work data plan.... so no BlackJack....

I still have 30 days incase the above info was wring but it seemed to come from a "informed source" rather than a rep just guessing about it.
