Default Still happy with your 8700c?

Hey guys I just went trying a Pearl to getting the 8700c for the full qwerty keyboard. I think the phone is a little better on the pearl but the email is better on the 8700c. If you upgraded the OS to the most recent version please let me know the results. I may be forced to dealing with the suretype for better phone quality.
Thanks

I recently upgraded the OS on my 8700c, and the phone quality is noticeably better.

I'm one of those who prefers SureType over the cramped keyboard of the 8700's. I found myself making a lot more errors on the undersized 8700 keys than the Pearl was making in SureType. The 8700 is no 7290 when it comes to typing...that's why I prefer the Pearl as the next generation device.

Also, the SureType on the Pearl is much smarter than it was on my 7100t, and has some ability to read context from what I hear...so it gives the correct word more often for a given keystroke combination.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

The other issue is screen size. I like the widescreen too. I still love my 8700 as the first full single use device for me. My 7100g did not cut it.

You bet I am and after using the Pearl for a week or so, I appreciate my 8700 more than ever! Like others the wide screen is better for what I use the BB for which is EMAIL and making phones calls. I know others like the less wide device but the size of the 8700 and 8800 is going to suit me better.

What si great is RIM is giving us all a choice. More choices that I can remember us ever having. Used to be your carrier had one Blackberry and that was it! Now you have several.

I love my 8700, I'm just having a difficult time with suretype. But don't get me wrong tho, the pearl is one great device, it's just not for me. 8800 will be my next baby :D

Phone on my 8700c has been fine regardless of the OS I've loaded (been through 3 versions so far).

8700c is good for quick email responses at work. I still have my Pearl as my main blackberry though. It's just the best!

Yep, I still love the 8700c. Tried the Pearl but took it back after a week and stuck with the 8700. Like the wide screen, qwerty and have just too many toys for the 8700 (3 cases, docking station, car holder, etc.) to change. Would like wireless or 3G or something faster, but no matter how fast the connection, a handheld will never take the place of a laptop for surfing the web. I only use the browsers for necessary info, never for just fun and EDGE is ok for me. RIM is going to have to make a quantum leap in technology to get me to change.
