Hi - I am new to the Blackberry 8700. I am set up to sync with my work server, which is run off of MS Exchange.

I keep all of my contacts (work and personal) at work. I'd also like to have an updated version at home. Is it possible to set up my home PC to sync (through MS Outlook) with my Blackberry so it will download my contact info?

I tried downloading the desktop manager software, but am not sure if I'm setting everything up correctly.

I have my contacts set up to sync at the office. At home I have the device rule over Outlook. It works for me.

You have to disable wireless sync with the BES for Contacts if it is enabled.

..and be careful installing DM at home. Do not choose the BES option or you'll break email delivery every time you sync at home (until you sync at work again anyway).

you'd be much better off syncing your home computer with the MS Exchange Server at work. Some people have reported intermittent problems when attempting to reconcile updates and deletes from two computers (i.e. th eBB may only update the first computer it syncs with and not any subsequent computers).

So it may be more trouble than it is worth. Do you have VPN or some other method of accessing your work's MS Exchange server from home? That would be the best bet. That's what I do (Lotus Notes/Domino). It would be far more consistent and less troubleprone.
