Hello to everyone
I have question about my new verizon 8703e...Is it possible for my device to notify me of incoming level 1 messages during a phone call? The blackberry manual says it is and to do it by editing the profile, but I can not find this "notify me during calls" option in my profiles. Then blackberry's fine print says some devices are unable to do this. Any advice?

not sure that this is possible for level 1 messages, however it is possible for SMS (last option in profiles)

That sounds right. Most mobile phones in the US cannot send data while in a call (Internet, email, PIN messages). SMS are the only messages that get through.

Only if you have UMTS phone. Most current GSM phones can not open data and voice connections similtaneously.

Thanks to everyone, I did det my sms to notify me during calls, but I was unaware that the system was unable to do both voice and data at the same time. I appreciate all of the input.
