Default Internet browsing...without data plan?

Please Login to Remove!

Now I have made a post about this before, and have gotten the usual "you need a data plan to browse the web". But this inquiry is of a different nature.

Is it possible to make a sort of "hombrew bes" and use it to browse the internet through your home router? If this doesn't make sense please tell me, im a blackberry noob.

Sorry, not possible. That's the wifi feature everyone is talking about with the 8800.

as john has explained to me many times... BB sends the info(data packets) differently then other phones... so therefore you will need a BB data plan NO MATTER what... whether you have a home made BES or not....

Cory

PS

proud of me john? LOL

Doin' good, Cory.

Also, you'll most likely need a data plan even to use wifi if/when it comes out.
