Default 7230 Password - disabling...

Please Login to Remove!

Is it possible to disable the password function on a 7230?
When I click on 'Enabled' I can only seem to be able to change the password or wipe handheld...
Any help most welcome!
Alyn

Are you on BES? If so, you will not find any sympathy on this board for trying to circumvent IT policies. But a quick search (the search button is your friend...really)
Can't disable password on bb handheld?

It's got an IT policy on it that required you to have a password...if it's on a company BES then you'll need to talk to your admins. If it's a device you bought of ebay then checkout the FAQ - Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

Thanks for your replies. I didn't realise it was such a big deal. I did buy the 7230 at Ebay as second-hand. My intention is just to use the handheld for phone & text, with no email or linking up to PC involved, and I was given a password but cannot disable it, but then I guess that must be for a reason so I have to live with using a password on it. It was a good price so c'est la vie. Thanks again, Alyn.

Feel free to remove the "IT Policy" as long as it is your personal BB and not on a corporate BlackBerry system. Follow the link above and you can remove it. No problems!

If that link doesn't work for the policy.bin try this one:
