As the title implies... can this be done OTA? I'm trying to help a guy at my work update his BB OS so that he can download the zen theme. We have a BES here for all of our BB's.
When I go to install my desktop manager, it gets to the point where it asks for e-mail settings and I just cancel out every time. what are my options around this? Any?

You must have Desktop Manager installed to update the Handheld OS code.

OS updates can not be done via OTA, you'll have to use the desktop manager.

I was afraid of thats... alright, next question, can I install the desktop manager on my computer w/o it trying to configure my e-mail to try to sync with the bb? To repeat, our bbs are routed through a BES at work for our outlook.

If you install the handheld software it also installs apploader lite. You can use that to install the update to the handheld.

Hey Doug, another question... and yes I did try search ... I now have Desktop Manager installed on my computer. I just let it download all the way thru, when it got to the part about how to sync w/my blackberry, e-mail settings, etc, I'm not really sure what I clicked on. As I mentioned, our BBs are run thru a BES in our IT dept, so I don't want the DM to try to route any e-mails, I just want to be able to plug in a 7100i to update to the newest os 4.1.0.376.
Before doing so, do we need to back up his current content? Will the DM read the BB and realize its older software? I kinda get lost in some of this so make it easy for me...
