Angry HELP!!! My BB is LOCKED!

Please Login to Remove!

Please help. I just purchased a BB 8703e 2 weeks ago and decided to load my software onto my pc. When prompted for my bb password on my pc, I incorrectly entered the pw all 10 times (bc clearly I can't remember it) and now I'm locked out of my bb altogether. I am only getting a symbol of what appears to be a cassette with a circle, triangle and square in the middle with a larger circle around the entire thing with a line through it.

What does this mean and how can I fix the problem? Is there any hope?

Thanks for speedy replies..

There is no OS on the device.

connect it to the pc, run desktop manager, select USB from the connections menu and and then run application loader. It should load the software (if you have installed the OS software to the PC first.)

I'm sorry but I have no idea what that means.

Attempting to load the software onto my pc today was the first time that I've tried to load the software and apparently it was unable to complete due to my lack of a password.

I've tried to remove the battery out of my bb and this still results in the same icon appearing on my bb screen. No other key is able to be operated including the trackwheel.

Any other advice?

Hope your back up was successful because when you miss your password 10 times..... the BB wipes everything clean and restores it back to factory.

Lovely little features like that make me a proud BB owner.

If you miss your password 10 times, the problem's not with your BlackBerry.

And since I keep a lot of sensitive stuff on my BB, I'm quite pleased at the extent to which RIM goes to make sure no one else gets their hands on it.
