Default makes sound when dialing.. how to stop it

my bb is set to silent/vibrate 99% and everything is silent except when i try to make a phone call. when dialing a phone number the BB makes a tone noise...
is there a way to shut it off?

I just scream at the same time I dial a number. It distracts me from the annoying tones. Other people around me stare but that's ok.

I guess I am doing something right. 8700g here, and I don't get dialing tones--only BARELY audible key punch tones when I actually key a new number in the phone dialer. When it goes to actually dial the number, no sound at all. That is without using a wired headset or BT.
