Default 8800 Accessories are available now

It amazes me but you can go to the RIM website and order accessories for your 8800 now. I ordered the Black leather swivel holster and the leather desktop stand. My local carrier never has any accessories for new phones so just to be safe they will be here Monday.

Sooner or later there must be a desktop charger. If I am not mistaken there are two copper contacts on the side/edge of the 8800. Most likely for charging just as the Pearl's contacts are on the back!

Is it just me? I went to shopblackberry.com and see the accessories for the 8800. But, I can't find the rubberized covers. Am I not looking in the right place?

No plastic holster? Similar to the older blackberry's. What does the leather holster do exactly? Does it charge the unit or just holds it there.

Just what kind of magic would you expect the holster to do?

That's what I thought. I just saw Boy Genius showing them off on his website and thought they were available.

The holster atttaches to your belt with a swivel clip. The other device just sits on your desk and hold your 8800 in the upright position. There is no magic. I still use my 7520 cradle to hold my 8700 on my desk at the office and dresser at home. Never seen any magic it just sits there.

I do think there is somekind of a charging cradle on the way as there are two copper contacts on the side of the 8800 for charging. As they are on the side, this cradle will be different!

Default Screen / Body Protectors for 8800

Some of you have mentioned interest in protectors for the new 8800. NLU Products, parent company of ScreenGuardz and BodyGuardz, obtained an 8800 and has protectors up and ready to go on both websites. Feel free to check it out at ScreenGuardz.com or BodyGuardz.com.
