Vista Sync and Internal Error 2738 on Desktop Manager 4.2 Install
 

I've read elsewhere on this forum that you need desktop manager v4.2 in order to be able to sync my 8703e with Vista. But every time I try to uninstall v4.1 of the desktop manager software I get an "internal error 2738" error message. Same error message comes up when I try to install v4.2

I've read elsewhere that that error message means that the uninstall/install handler can't get access to a VB script and that I should download Microsoft's VB script 5.6 from Microsoft's web site. I can't find a VB script 5.6 download for Vista; the download and installation of VB script 5.6 for XP doesn't solve my "internal error 2738" problem.

Any suggestions.

Try install/uninstalling using the Run as Administrator option.

Actually, as a lark, I tried to sync my BBerry with desk manager 4.1 on my Vista machine and, voila, it worked.
