Default Need help with Web surfing....

Hello all.

I have been through a few models and have ended up with the 7130e.

It was fine at first but now sites such as eBay are using more java / scripts etc.

Is there anyway to upgrade the browser to keep up with tech. or is it a matter of going out a getting a newer model?

Any tips or tricks would be helpful!

Are you using the WAP site for Ebay?

Do a search for other browsers on the forum here, check in Aftermarket Software. Lots of people love Opera Mini.

Hello there and thanks for trying to help me.

Well I do not use WAP for ebay as from what I understand it is a very secure browser and thus might have some restrictions. Correct me if I am wrong here though as I am very green with the BB technoligy.

Think Opera mini would be alot better?

Again thanks for any help.

So I go to try and use opera mini.

I download it.
I install it.
I try and connect to the internet.

CONNECTION FAILED!

I tried and tried only to find out that BELL MOBILITY (unlike Rogers and other carriers) programs phones once they get them from Blackberry to not permit other software to conect to the Internet.

WHATA PEICE OF ____!

Can you imagine that. I bought a 7130e and can not surf and use sites like Ticketmaster and eBay without problems. EVDO my ass! What good is it if Java is not up to spec or browsers are not functioning properly.

Sad but true folks!

do you have all your settings correct for Opera Mini. I know it requires an additional set up, and I believe you will need to enter the APN settings via options, advanced, tcp. Search the forums here, there is a list of the settings for different carriers, and could be one for Bell Mobility.

As to not using WAP for Ebay on your browser, just try it and see if it works. You may have "created" a problem you do not have, if it works.
