Default Help!!! problems with 7290

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone

A noob Blackberry Question, I have a blackberry 7290 and a virgin (UK)SIM, I have contacted virgin mobile and i have recived a standard "we do not offer support for blackberries but i will send you some generic settings" reply

they sent me the following texts:-

Text 1

from Virgin Mobile:GPRS 1 - Name:Virgin WAP GPRS IP Address:193.030.166.003 Username:user Passwordnone)

Text 2

From Virgin Mobile:MMS 1 - Name:Picture Message IP Adress:193.030.166.001 Username: user Passwordnone)

Text 3

From Virgin Mobile:MMS 2- Homepage: <URL blocked> Server Address:go.to.virginmobile.co.uk

Text 4

From Virgin Mobile:GPRS 2 - Homepage Name: Virgin Xtras Server Address: <URL blocked>

Can anyone help with this at all as virgin have been no help at all.

The phone was with T-Mobile UK but has been unlocked and works with Texts and Calls via Virgin however there is some odd looking T-mobile security Certificates that i havent removed yet as i was unsure about them.

Thanks for any help at all.

Welcome to BB Forums...

In order to do anything besides voice and texts, you must have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account. Without a BlackBerry Data Plan you have no internet access at all.

so just so that i understand this i cannot use standard data like any other phone then? I can just get web for example (like a nokia or something)?

That is correct. You can not use standard data like any other phone. The carrier must support the BlackBerry and you must have a special BlackBerry Data Plan.

oh ok then well that means my blackberry will never go online then as my provider doesn't provide a blackberry service..
