Hi all,

I've made the jump from a treo 650 (I've also had a 600) to a 8700. My service provider remains the same, Tmobile. I have a few questions: How am I able to get my contacts, calender and some applications from the Treo over to the 8700. My inclination to get the 8700 is it's ability to zip around the web and email (push) capability. I am participate in other forums and hope to be a productive member of this forum as well.

Cheers!

Welcome (and here are some answers)..

First of all, Treo applications will not work on a BlackBerry. Your best bet is to find a BB compatible app that does the same (or similar) things as the Treo app.

Download the latest version of "Desktop Manager" from the RIM BlackBerry support web site at BlackBerry

There is an Application called Switch Device Wizard in Desktop Manager which allows you to move data from a Palm to a BB - give that a shot.

Good luck!

Welcome to the group. I'm fellow 8700 user on tmo. I think you will like the 8700.

I'm in the same boat! Switched from a 650 to an 8703e on Thursday. I've got Alltel. I'm debating whether to stay with the 8703e or switch to the Moto Q when it comes out in a couple of weeks.

So far, I love the 8703. I thought I was going to switch for sure to the Q, but the 8703 is making the decision tougher than I thought it would be! if there's anyone who has helpful BB vs. Moto Q info, I'm all ears....

I personally don't think the Q will be worth it since the Q on Verizon is a POS IMHO. Unless it really wows me I don't think i could give up my crackberry!!!!
