Default Poor web browsing experience on 7290/Cingular

Hey all. I have a BB 7290 on a Cingular plan. My web browsing experience is really painful. I either get really slow load times and/or a lot of error messages. I'm wondering if there's anything I do here short of switching phones or moving to another provider. I really don't mind the phone all that much but I would like to be able to have marginal web surfing capabilities if possible.

The 7290 is pretty slow on the web when compared to other devices.... What error messages are you getting?

The 7290 is GPRS. Slightly (just) faster than dial up. EDGE (8700/8800/8100) is faster and EVDO is much faster.

But speed is relative. What are you comparing it with?

You won't get anything near the speed of using a PC, since everything on a handheld is processor limited. You just don't have the processing (or memory) capabilities of a PC so you can't expect it to be very fast, even if you are on EV-DO or 3G.
