Los Angeles Area - Let's Keep Info Flowing...

I've called every store in a 20 mile radius of Beverly Hills this morning and no luck. Most employees have unfortunately been clueless as we have come to learn.

Started this forum for us locals. If you know of a store that has it, please post it.

should have read the 8800 confermed thread, theres a list of people that live in different areas of US that are looking you might get lucky.

You got that right. They are still selling for $800-$900 on eBay!

A couple of us in the "8800's in Stores" thread have been posting updates re L.A.-area availability. I, too, have been calling all stores north of LAX, all through the SFV, and even into Ventura County. Nothing so far.

Interestingly, someone in that other thread who is in Bakersfield said they bought one already from a local corporate store. I'm thinking, if Bakersfield is getting them, we can't be too far off. Also, many local stores get shipments at 1pm, therefore it's worth checking back after that time to find out.

i never undersood why people pay so much for phones, either they have money to blow or their idiots... what is 1 or 2 days or weeks going to do if you dont have the latest when it come out... i remember when the Razor was selling for over $1000 on ebay... just stupid if you ask me and now everyone and their mom has one...

So i take it you didnt like the keypad either???

azmmza 02-19-2007 06:50 PM

the BH cingular store told me they wont be getting the 8800 till Q3 of 2007 (n)

i guess we will just have to wait

you guys, I have found stores in LA who have them, but they refuse to sell them to me.. what can i do?

ronnie_gaucho 02-19-2007 06:59 PM

just try to tell em other stores have been selling em...

otherwise...nothing

have they said when they WILL sell?

Sparkomatic 02-19-2007 07:14 PM

OC store on Bristol and Jamboree said they got 5 in and are selling 4 (one is for demo). It was posted on the other thread that someone called this store and had one put on hold for pickup in the AM. When I called, they were going to take my name down and after telling him I was paying full retail, he said it was first come, first serve on the 21st. They weren't selling them before than and no waiting lists.

What stores? I checked with most store again after 2pm today and none had received their shipments.

I can confirm that the Woodland Hills (Topanga Canyon) corporate store has several in stock. I just picked one up from there. Someone else picked about two from the Highland Ave store in the Hollywood area.

There is no Cingular store on Highland in the Hollywood area. Not listed on the Cingular website or Yahoo Yellow Pages. You sure that was the location?

Sorry if I was unclear. It's located at 7100 Santa Monica Blvd (at Highland), or at least that's the address given to me by another member who purchased two from that location.

I just bought two tonight, and there is one more left at the store. I love this thing. Software has more new features compared to the pearl. The browser is soo much faster in my opinion, this thing fly's! Store location where i got mine:

Wilshire & Wiltern store has a few. Bought mine at 1:00pm today.

Sparkomatic 02-20-2007 07:21 PM

Got the last one from the Irvine store on Harvard and Main.

I'm the one with the 8800 from the Jamboree/Bristol store in Newport. I apparently have one of those 4 available for sale. Talk to the store manager, Grady, and reserve one for tomorrow. He's very nice and would probably agree to reserve one if you're driving down to get one [from his store].

Hey guys, the Valenica store has them in the stevenson ranch area. I just picked one up.

Glad you were able to get yours today. I have to admit, I told the Cingular guy in Irvine that I broke my 8700 and really needed to pick up another BB today. He checked with his manager and said they'd let me buy it full price but he wouldn't hold it for me.
