I used to use PocketMac to sync my 8700c. Just got my 8800 an hour ago and it's not syncing. It gave me error message. Does anyone else use OSX and try to sync? How do you guys transfer files from 8700 to your 8800?

Interesting to hear. I'm looking at getting an 8800 soon and am worried about the Mac support. Sorry that I don't have a solution for you... but perhaps you could keep the thread updated with your latest findings so that we can all benefit? Thanks!

PS... I'm hoping that the missing sync for blackberry (scheduled for release soon) supports the 8800 and solves these issues once and for all. Time will tell.

Guys, it turned out to be a faulty USB cable. Sorry...

After I changed a different cable, I was able to sync my iCal and Address book with my 8800. (I don't use desktop email so I didn't try that.) Everything works fine.

Just for curiosity sake, have you tried pairing your 8800 to your mac. If you have BT that is?
Let me know what services show up for it on your mac.

One other question if you're up for playing with it. When you connect the BB to your Mac, does the MicroSD card show up as a mounted drive? It would be great to use that instead of a thumb drive...

i have a mac with a 8800 as well. I used to use a 8700 and synced fine with PocketMac. I am having the same problem of it not recognising that 8800 and wont charge it by USB. I have tried a different cable as well and that hasnt helped.

Suggestions?

try setting the sync back to first sync state--it may be still trying to read and look for your 8700--that happened with me when I went from the 8700 to the 8100--I also had to update my pocketmac to accommodate 4.2 OS instead of 4.1 OS on the BB

my pocketmac runs through as if it is syncing ... but when i check info ... it is not

1. Yes, reset pocketmac. Reinstall if u need to. Remove program and reinstall. Reset it as the first time sync.
2. Yes, it will recognize the SD as a mass storage device.
