Default I just got a 8700, should I return it and wait for a 8800?

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased a 8700 with a 2year for 299.99 and 50 mail-in rebate with t-mobile

Should I return it and wait for a 8800? Cingular or t-mobile it doesn't matter to me.

I was sorta hoping that tmo would get the 8800's in before my 30 return policy, so I could just do a straight trade, but that doesn't seem likely.

Default Yes!

For $300 and a 2 year plan you can probably get the latest -- the 8800. If you're willing to live with a hand me down, there'll be a passle of 8700's on sale at bargain basement prices later this week.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

U got robbed...for that price I'd return it and wait for the 8800.

There is *nothing* wrong with the 8700! It's an awesome device! T-Mo might not even get the 8800 for a few months so why not use the 8700, then when the 8800 comes out you can decide. Some are already saying the keys are very close on the 8800... If you decide you like and want the 8800 then you can sell the 8700 and pick up the 8800...

My .02 worth....

The 8700s are nice. The trackwheel is different for me since I'm more use to the trackball. I'd say return it since you (shouldn't) be penalized with a restocking fee.

If he returns it now he gets his money back, if he waits he needs to spend more money to get the 8800.

Agree with the others, return it. Within a few days the 8800 should be about everywhere. As a long time 8700c user I consider the 8800 quite a nice device. Just the better build quality is really nice. The speaker phone is MUCH improved!

i would say before you get all gun ho about it try the 8800 at the stores and see if you like it... you may or may not like the keypad and feel and that should determine if you should get the 8800 or not...

8700c is sold for $199 at Cingular store, and refurbished one only for $99 online... You can get a 8800 for the same price... So even if you choose 8700c over 8800 (not a bad idea if you like the scrollwheel and keyboard), hey, why don't you wait till the price comes down a bit? Once 8800 out in TMO I bet the price will come down like Cingular did!
