Default RIM Leather desktop cradle

Please Login to Remove!

I always thought it was stupid but ordered one for my 8800 over a week ago and I like it! I have been using my old 7520 Nextel Blackberry cradle to hold my 8700c. It did not work well but did the job, but it will not work at all for the 8800.

I tried it and it works quite well for the money. Ordered two more so I will have two at the house and one at the office. Just thought I would let people know if they are ordering any accessories. I thought it was worth the price if you like to have your 8800 standing up at the desk and at home while charging.

RIM must, also, have plans for a charging cradle of some type as the 88-- has two contacts on the left edge which look to be like the Pearl charging contacts on the Pearl back. Anyone see or heard what type of cradle that would be?

There IS a magnet that holds the device in position to cradle your device.

It folds flat when not in use.

The magnet does not effect the device what so ever. You do not really need it too as I set this up in my "out of holster" profiles.

I bought two of these. I use one for travel and one for home. They're nice, compact little cradles.

Sweet I have been lookin for a dsktop cradle similar to that of the 72xx for an 87xx but no luck. I ran across the leather one and have been a bit suspicious but after having read the personal experiences here I may just have to give it a try!

Thanks

The official RIM BlackBerry Accessories Store should have them available.

Hey, I am using my Seidio 8700 Desktop Cradle with my 8800 and it fits PERFECTLY (great cradle too).

I like that the charger is always attached to the side of the cradle, no fishing around to find it on the floor (amidst my 12 other chargers.. <g>)

There have been a few reviews that the BB 8700 didn't fit really tight in the cradle from Seidio, but I haven't found that to be the issue at all. My 8700 has the fat Seidio batter and fit nicely. My 8800 fits just as tightly (if not more so).

I have been using my old 7520 plastic cradle but the 8800 will not stay in it! I am still waiting for RIM to come out with a charging cradle for the 8800 to go with those side contacts!

Anyone have anything about this?

Mine are working perfectly for me! I will continue to use until RIM delivers the charging cradle for the 8800.

The leather cradle is very nice!
