Default Need add on file application for BIS users!

Please Login to Remove!

I would still like to be able to save my email messages to several specific folders in my Blackberry. Right now there is just one save folder, would be nice to add some sub folders to this and have a choice as to where we save our emails. I am a BIS user with needs, too!

Anyone listening?

You can do this with BES? I hate, hate, hate, my sent items appear in my mailbox.

For non-Inbox folder storage, BES is your sole choice. No other options exist.

In the mailbox for your email account or in Messages on the Blackberry? You can hide the latter under Options.

With BES you can file email into the folders you have set up in your mailbox from the Blackberry itself. It really provides much more complete integration with your email account (and with the email system as well). That is, with Exchange at least. I have no experience with BES and Lotus.

However, BES is limited to a single account where you can have up to 10 with BIS (though you can, of course, still use BIS alongside BES).

It just seems it would have been a simply thing to do to allow the BIS user to set up some simple folders in his device to save mail in. As versatile as the Blackberry device is you would think this would be easy! I got folders for media, music, pictures, etc. Why not options for mail?

Is there any fundamental reason why carriers don't go in the direction of hosted BES? I've always thought it would be a good market-fit.

What I really want is a sent items folder like Outlook has. IS this possible? did not think you could create folders on the BlackBerry.

Outside of creating separate email folders, if you're on BES, this is your only choice:

EMail -> Message Options -> General Options -> Hide Sent Messages

That would be ok if my sent SMS messages didn't get hidden. I don't want to save those, but I want to save my sent corporate mail. Does this make sense?

Sure, it makes good sense. If I'm not mistaken, I think(?) that SMS/MMS folders show up separately under certain themes. But, I don't recall which ones or if they're available on the 8800. Other than this, on BIS, I don't think you have any other options remaining.
