Default 8800 adaptor to use standard headphones

Please Login to Remove!

I have an excellent set of Shure earbuds that I want to use with my 8800. I purchased an adaptor from Radio Shack that goes from 3/32 to 1/8th (SKU # 274-004) RadioShack.com - Cables, Parts & Connectors: Connectors & connectivity: A/V connectors & adapters: 2.5mm to 3.5 mm Cell to Stereo Adapter

Unfortunately - I am still getting no sound when playing MP3's.

The sound will work both through the speaker phone and internal speaker, and on a standard wired cell-phone headset (though, of course, only in one ear).

How can I use my expensive Shure headphones on an 8800?

There is this thread from the 8100 forum. I don't know for sure, but I expect the 8800 is the same.
