Default 8700c VS. Motorola A1200...

Please Login to Remove!

alright, I currently own and use the 8700c (Cingular) and just 5 minutes ago I stumbled across a slightly used Motorola A1200 from a co worker that he had no use for and sold it to me for a VERY good price...

has anyone heard/used this phone... how would you rate it... below is a link I found upon looking over a few things for the phone...

let me know what you all think...

CNET Review of A1200

Well when you get back up off of the floor, you'll still want the 8700 for reliability.

I had an a1200 and its small screen, lack of a keyboard or numberpad created many problems for me. The linux os does not have much 3rd party support. The camera is decent and if you got the black one, i enjoyed the rubberized outer material. Overall the phone is sub par compared to the bb, wm and symbian phones available today. But if you got it for a hundred dollars, id say cool, it has a neat "wow" effect since its not a phone that is commonly seen in the us.

imo i would stick with the bb.

Definitely has a nice "wow" effect, but the quirks and lack of decent email did it in for me.

And my experience with tht keyboard is why I say the iPhone won't live up to the hype. It's impossible to type anything on a touchscreen keyboard if you're moving in any way (walking, bus, car, etc)
