I just got a blackberry 8703 for verizon for the first time today, and I'm slowly beginning to figure out how to work it. One question though: I try to always keep the phone on vibrate mode, and while I figured out how to do that in profiles, I can't figure out how to keep the keypad from making noises when i enter a phone number. How do I keep it silent when I'm dialing a phone number?

Also, is there a more powerful vibration feature on this phone that I'm not aware of, or does the phone just vibrate softly? I haven't missed any calls or anything yet, I was curious as to what people's experiences have been with the vibration on the phone, though.

Key tone is at options, screen/keyboard, scroll down to bottom, set to off.

The vibrate does not adjust.

Thanks for the tip, but even when I turn it off, the numbers "beep" when I dial them in-- only to make a phone call. Is there a way to stop this?

Nope. The option JSanders refers to only affects the keys beeping when you press them while navigating menus and so on. It doesn't affect the dialing tones that are generated when you're placing a call.

can you help me with one thing..

when my 8100 recieves an incoming call, it vibrates first and takes around 3 rings for the tone to kick in, by then i have missed the call.

am i doing something wrong??

In your Profile, you have the action sent to Vibrate+Tone. On a BB, that is actually Vibrate THEN tone...
