I recently purchased an T-Mo 8700g and still trying to get the hang of it....

anyway, i downloaded instant messaging onto the BB and tried to log into Yahoo IM--Automatically, it jumped to 20% of my request then after a few minutes...i would get an error message:

communication error...please try again or check your settings. i've done everything but still unsure why i can't connect to Yahoo IM.

any advice will be greatly appreciated

I guess you're trying to download OZ? It does not work that good, you might find a better IM app to use. Look in the Aftermarket Software forum here.

I warn you, if you downloaded OZ instant messeging program. OZ use SMS usages!! but I never say that you stay away from OZ. let you know about it. it is up to you..

You can download Y! messenger from http://www.blackberry.com/YahooDownload/index.do which use data instead of SMS.. ;)

or try to get the beta of jivetalk ... works great

Didn't know OZ did this good thing I have unlimited SMS.

Hey Candigrl73, I agree with nextelman, JiveTalk is a great IM program for the BB. I have been using it now for a while and like it much more than the other ones that I've tried, plus it does all the clients (yahoo, msn, gtalk, icq, aol are the ones I use and they all work great)

Do a search for jivetalk and send them an email request to get on the list for beta testers.

try yak-on... $20 one time payment and it works perfectly with aim, yahoo and msn.
