Exclamation Address Book Help!

So when I go to compose an email as I have always done, most of the names don't come up in the LOOKUP field, where I would normally start typing the contacts name and the device would narrow down who I am trying to email.

In the address book I have a contact named "John Doe." So I compose new email, and start typing in Joh..., but nothing is being suggested from my address book, where I have verified that the "John Doe" contact is still there. Oddly, in the address book app I can see the contact if I scroll to it, but there also I can't type in his name to have the list narrowed down to the contacts I am looking for.

Does this make sense?

PLEASE, please help me! This is sooo frustrating, as this little device is so vital to my work on the weekends!!!

Do you sync with a PIM (like Outlook) on your PC? If so, this is a long shot, take a look at your contact entries on the PC in a view that shows the entries as if in a spreadsheet. See if some data is in the wrong column (i.e. last name is not in the last name column but in another column). If this is it, either delete the entry and recreate it, or try, first, editing the entry and re-saving it, then sync up with the BB. Like I said, I'm guessing (based on an issue I had the other day). Maybe will help, probably not, but worth a shot.
