Default Problem with E-mail notification next to icon title

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

How is everyone doing? Ok so I am a newbie that just purchased a blackberry 8700g

I have set up two e-mail accounts, both are IMAP (via AOL) and both are working well for the most part sending and receiving.

The problem that I have is as follows.

So on the home screen I have the messages icon which is the one that combines both my e-mails and sms and mms.

Then I have one e-mail icon called "BIG ACH" set up via AOL IMAP

and another e-mail icon called "CORPORATE ACH" set up via AOL IMAP

When I get any new e-mails I get that little icon on the top left telling me that I have a new message, but the problem is this, if it is sent to the BIG ACH e-mail, when I scroll over the icon, lets say I have two un read messages, the tiltle will say " BIG ACH (2) " ok, but if the e-mail is sent to the CORPORATE ACH e-mail, when I scroll over the icon, the title will just say " CORPORATE ACH " with no parenthesis next to it indicating how many un read messages there are. There can be any number of messages, and it will show up on the top left of the screen but won't show up in the title of the icon.

Any ideas how I can fix that to make it show up next to the title " CORPORATE ACH "

And just to be clear the title " CORPORATE ACH " is linked to an AOL IMAP e-mail and not a corporate server or BES.

Thanks guys and any advice would really be helpful.

Best regards,

Confused Ach

If you use the Zen theme, there will be an indicator next to both the messages icon and the email one. I just tested it. If you don't have the zen theme in options>themes, you can upgrade the OS to get it through carriers BIS site, or search here for vendor.xml to find out how to get the Zen theme with your current OS.

ADD: I just realized the indicator doesn't say how many messages. That's still in parentheses.

Hey Scott,

No matter what theme I use it still does not say it. This is really driving me nuts. Why would it do that?

I have no idea. I don't have that problem, at least not with the Zen theme.

Ach -

I have that problem with all of my accounts. Work, Gmail, Verizon (main home), and my blackberry address. Of course they don't show up at all but the work one still shows a (1) even though I deleted everything from that folder.

I have had this problem for over 4 months. At this point I don't even care anymore.
