Well, I am out of town, in Denver for a few days...

Haven't had time to really pursue this, so I thought I would just post a quick message and ask everyone about it.
I pulled my SIM, slid it into the 8800... all the phone functions work, can send SMS, get on medianet, but thats it. Switched devices on BIS, resent service books, registered device. Nothing.
Never got the service books, can't send or receive emails. Can't surf the web.
Maybe I just need to place a call to Cingular, and bug them about it?
I will try that on Monday, when I'm back in Cali...
SIM back in the pearl, switch device back....no problems! Got all the service books I had sent, email comes right away.
Any suggestions? Anything I can try w/o calling Cingy?

Thanks for the help... I am sure I will get it working Monday, if no one has any ideas for me.

I didn't have any trouble when I switched to a 8800 with my Cingular SIM.

I have heard that some of those launch event devices had some issues. I think it had something to do with the SIM card and a newer one being needed. But I could be completely wrong too.

Just checking but maybe it didn't stick since if you put the card back in the 8100 and you got the service books it's possible the IMEI that you put in on the BIS site didn't take, so you might want to try that again. since if you had changed it the servicebooks and emails should come thoruhg on the 8100 either if the IMEI was changed. maybe I'm wrong, but just a theory.
