Default MicroSD Card & MS Office Files

Is it possible to put Word and Excel files on the MicroSD card and open them from the BB 8800?

I would like to carry a "library" of important documents with me. I have been able to open these documents on a second PC (via mass storage) but not on the BB itself.

Thanks.

I haven't tried, but I do remeber that you are supposed to be able to view them on the BB... I wonder, is this still limited to BES useres? Or is the function to be able to view these file types finally been opened up to us BIS users?

Quite unfortunately, no. The microSD is relegated to solely serving music/video media.

if you enable mass storage mode on the unit you can copy any file to it. However, there is nothing you can do with the file once it is on the handheld.

I was reading about Repligo on this site. It allows you to store data on their server, and then access it on your BB on command. I haven't tried it, but it sounds promising. You log on to their website, open your account page, upload whatever you want to access from your computer, such as word files, and then have access to those files on you BB as you need them.
