Default 8700c from Cingular to Verizon ???

Please Login to Remove!

I previously purchased an 8700c with Cingular. I moved out of the country so cancelled Cingular and moved to Verizon for their international plan. I am now moving back to the states and I would like to use my 8700c with a Verizon plan.

Can I somehow use the existing Cingular 8700c with Verizon ???

Thank you !

Not possible. The 8700c is GSM technology and Verizon uses CDMA. In addition, Verizon will not allow a non Verizon phone on their network.

Same is true for Sprint as they also use CDMA and have the same restrictions on non Sprint phones.

You can unlock the 8700 and use it with another GSM carrier, T-Mobile, however.
